HTML5 + CSS3
New web design books from A Book Apart are finally here. Can’t wait to lean more about CSS3 from the great Dan Cederholm.
German Smoking Santa
I figure, since the local radio stations have been playing Christmas music for the past week already — and it’s freezing cold outside! — I’ll allow myself to take out one of my decorations a little early. Looking at this Santa standing on my desk just makes me happy.
Welcome to Walden Pond
These park benches next to the pond looked so inviting on this gorgeous fall day.
Walden Woods
There are so many great places to get away from it all, up here in New England. Walden Pond is one of my favorites.
A Bend in the Trail
I went for a walk through The Garden in the Woods early this morning. When I came to this bend on the trail I couldn’t help but notice these two wooden benches. I only wished I had a hot cup of coffee, a warm blanket and a good book. That would have been heaven!
Red Door
These little orange pumpkins above the red door on this blue house really made me smile. Love, love, love all the colors on the old homes in this seaside town!
Minute Man Statue
Daniel Chester French won a contest to create a monument for the 100th anniversary of the battle fought at the Old North Bridge (1875). Civil war cannons were melted down to create this cast bronze statue. French later created many other pieces of art, including the seated Lincoln statue in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
