The Colonial Inn
It was a gorgeous Fall day up here in New England. Went for lunch at The Colonial Inn in Concord… yum. The chicken pot pie is not to be missed.
Ye Olde Pepper Companie
This is the oldest candy shop in America, dating back to 1806. Pumpkin taffy… mmm.
The Witch House
This is the home of Salem witchcraft trial judge, Jonathan Corwin and is the only remaining structure in Salem with direct ties to the Witchcraft Trials of 1692.
Woodloch Springs in the Fall
Went out for an early morning walk around Woodloch Springs this weekend — the weather was absolutely perfect. It doesn’t get much prettier than this!
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
Now that Fall is here, I thought I’d take a walk through Sleepy Hollow to visit Author’s Ridge. Felt like a New Englandy thing to do!
On Old North Bridge
Went for a run out in Minute Man National Park this morning. This fall weather is amazing – can’t wait till all these leaves change!
Hartwell Tavern
Hartwell Tavern was built between 1772-1773 and sits on a section of the actual “Battle Road.” It was here at the time of the American Revolution during the battle on April 19, 1775 and is called a “witness house.”
Orchard House
This was the Alcott family home from 1858 to 1877. This is also the site where Louisa May Alcott wrote and set “Little Women,” in 1868. When I was a little girl my grandmother told me “every young woman should read ‘Little Women’” — it is and always will be one of my favorites. I’m so glad I got to take her here for a visit last fall. It was a special day for both of us.
